== Welcome to the !PyModelData project ==

!PyModelData is a software library for reading, writing and converting
data for scientific
[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_modelling modeling].
The library aims to support different common formats like
[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comma-separated_values CSV],
[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Excel Excel],
[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hierarchical_Data_Format HDF] and
[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NetCDF NetCDF]. The default format is
[http://www.yaml.org/ YAML].

!PyModelData is written in [http://www.python.org Python] but can be used
from other programming languages, ''for example'' C or Fortran.

!PyModelData is a rather young project; little code has been
written so far. There are quite few things ToDo.
The software will be released under the
[http://www.opensource.org/licenses/mit-license.php MIT]
license.
